A Closer look At our key outreach ministries.
Community Garden: Organically grown vegetables for our feeding ministry and flowers to grace the altar in the summer months. We are always looking for more folk with green thumbs or a willingness to weed.
Food Pantry & Feeding Ministries: Our food pantry provides meals for about 900 people per month, including our monthly support Friends of the Homeless and Monarch Woods Senior Housing. We also supplement our purchases for Feed More, the regional food bank, with fresh vegetables from our own parish garden. We rely on donations of food and money and post a monthly needed food for the pantry.
Gifts from the Heart: An alternative holiday gift fair which allows St. Michael's parishioners to live out our mission. Through it we can purchase donations in the name of our friends and family that support charitable organizations in Richmond, the United States, and the world.
Rise Against Hunger: About once a year, we pack 10,000 meals in one 2 hour event that combines fun, fellowship and music with learning about hunger around the world.
